After much anticipation, the school’s new team logo was finally revealed. IA’s athletic program has now made the transition from the old team name, The Cossacks, to the new name, Guardians. The logo incorporates several important elements including a shield, which is a symbol of protection and the silhouette of a Bronze Horseman like figure, a famous monument and symbol representing the lovely city of St. Petersburg. The name Guardians itself, contains the letters IA, which stand of International Academy. Finally the logo contains the theme verse which all athletic teams of IA attempt to live by: “And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men”, Colossians 3:23.
